There’s a plethora of toddler and preschool Bible activities available, but determining the most effective approach to teaching the youngest ones can be challenging. Where do you even begin? What kinds of activities are most beneficial? Are coloring sheets sufficient? These were the questions I grappled with during my time as a nursery and preschool director at our church, and later as a parent with my own children. With the overwhelming array of options, it became apparent that finding a suitable curriculum was no easy task, especially with mixed age groups spanning 3 to 5 years old. This led me to create our own Bible curriculum tailored to my needs, and now it’s available for you to utilize!
Understanding the limited attention span of toddlers and preschoolers, I’ve designed these activities to be highly engaging and hands-on, minimizing the use of worksheets. These activities have proven effective in not only instilling a recollection of Bible stories but also in imparting fundamental Biblical principles that can guide them throughout their lives.
The curriculum is structured to follow a chronological path through the Bible, ensuring that key lessons align with significant events such as Christmas and Easter (although adjustments may be necessary each year).
This curriculum is structured into month-long units, with each unit comprising three or more lessons to cover the entire month. Depending on the length of the months, slight adjustments may be necessary each year.
One of the greatest features of this curriculum is its reusability. It can be used for your toddler now and for subsequent years to come! Each lesson offers multiple activities for your family to enjoy. You can select different activities each year, providing variety and keeping the learning experience fresh. Additionally, many of the activities include extensions suitable for older children, allowing for extended learning opportunities. This flexibility enables you to reuse the same lessons over time.
Furthermore, these lessons are highly adaptable for Sunday School classes. Simply ensure you have enough supplies for each student, and you’re ready to go! Originally designed for multiple age groups, this curriculum can be easily tailored to suit the children in your classroom.
