Paul and Silas’ Journey

This first lesson in the Paul’s Travels unit in the Teaching the Bible, a Bible curriculum for a toddler and preschool child is on Paul and Silas’ Journey. This lesson focuses on when Paul and Silas traveled all over. The goal of this lesson is for your child to know that We Can Tell Others About Jesus. There is a memory verse for your child to learn with motions and a poster.

So you must go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Matthew 28:19 NIRV

My favorite activity from this lesson is the Paul’s journey sensory bin. This bin is super fun for all ages. Your child will be able to reenact the story for you as well as just play in a sensory bin. This one is a bit different because it is two different fillers. It was created to use blue jell-o and crushed cereal, but you can use what you have. You can dye rice or noddles blue and brown if that is what you have at your house. Also you just grab different toys from your house to help your child understand the story.

Paul in Jail

This second lesson in Paul’s Travels is on Paul in Jail. This takes place during Paul and Silas’ journeys and tells the story of the two witnessing to the jailer. There are 6 activities and should last about a week in your homeschool or a week at church. The memory verse is the same as the previous lesson.

My favorite activity from this lesson is Jail hide and seek. This game is super fun and can be played by the whole family. It is easy to setup. You find some praise music and pick one person to hide. As they are hiding, you play the praise song. After it is over, everyone goes to find the person hiding. Instead of shouting found you, you just quietly hide with the person. This makes it super fun!!

Paul has a Shipwreck and Bitten by a Snake

The last lesson in the Paul’s Travels unit in the Teaching the Bible, a Bible curriculum for a toddler and preschool child is on Paul has a shipwreck and is bitten by a snake. This lesson should last about a week with 6 hands-on activities at home or pick a few activities for a week at church. Your child will continue to work on the same memory verse.

My favorite activity from this lesson is Shape Ship. In this activity, your child will build a ship from basic shapes. The activity is very easy to adapt to your child. Younger children can work on identifying different shapes and older children can work on cutting out their own shapes as well as adding details to the pictures.
