This week (for our preschool weekly review), we had a few hiccups during the week, but we got back on track as quickly as possible. We did a little bit of learning on the go and we did a bit of our curriculum too.
Sunday
Today, we did not go to church because our church is having a special baptism service at a member’s house and we didn’t want to deal with the kids there. So we watched Grandma’s church on our TV. D loves listening to Ms. Kayla (one of their singers). It was funny because every time she would come on the screen, he would stop and point. It was super cute! After church we went out to eat lunch at a new restaurant called Toast. It was super delicious. We came back and C, Grandma and Mommy went out shopping! It was fun! We got home in time for D to be getting up. We had leftovers for dinner because most of us brought stuff home from lunch! C got to have a sleepover with Grandma which was a highlight for her.
Monday

We got up and Grandma had to pack to go home. We left early to go eat one last meal with Grandma on the road before she got on the airplane. The whole way home, C kept telling me she wanted “see Grandma again!” This little girl was super sad. We got home and D had only slept a bit in the car so I laid him down for a nap and C and I did some school work. We first worked on our Abeka K4 curriculum. We played a fun addition game. Check it out here!

We also started our Wisdom Wonder Project curriculum with a story, The Cat and The Bird by Geraldine Elschner. We then mixed milk with paint and made all different colors. We talked about warm and cool colors. C had a blast with this activity. She then did some watercolors for fun! I will be posting my review of Wisdom Wonder Project in a few weeks.
After snacks, we went to our neighborhood park for a while. Our lovely HOA Board members cleaned it up this weekend and we cannot be happier. It was so nice to play without weeds everywhere and the wasps are gone! Thanks HOA Board!

Tuesday
This was our major hiccup day! After the kids and I had breakfast, I decided we would go to Costco for our monthly trip. This was all good and dandy. We got home and I unloaded the car and threw all the boxes on the floor. I went to make lunch and sneezed! I threw out my back! I couldn’t move!! I stood there for a minute and figured out I could walk ever so slowly so I made lunch with C’s help. I heaved D into his seat and then called Daddy. He came home and helped me put D to bed because there was no way I could lift him as I could barely walk. Daddy stayed home and worked from home the rest of the day so that if I needed help, he would be there. After a bit of heat and a rest, it was getting better. After dinner we did a short family walk so that I could keep my back loose. I went to bed shortly after putting the kids to bed!
Wednesday

Today I woke up and my back felt better. I could walk a bit easier. After the kids and I had breakfast, we went for a walk. I was able to go almost a mile which was good for me. The more I use my back, the better! When we got home from our walk we went to go get the rest of our groceries (I had done a Walmart pick up order Tuesday night). We got back and played while I fixed lunch. After lunch, D went to nap and C went to rest and Mommy went to sit with the heating pad! After her rest time, C and I worked on more of our Wisdom Wonder Project. She is enjoying the activities so far and yes she was still in her pjs at 3pm! Also side note, as I was taking pictures of her doing the activities, I was informed to stop taking pictures because she didn’t want me to take anymore!
This afternoon, we got the pool out in the backyard and just let the kids play. They had a blast dumping water out of the pool, putting rocks in the pool, swimming, and just playing. D wanted to go inside once the neighbor started mowing his yard. I let C play while I fixed dinner, the pool had water only up to her ankles so she was fine with me checking on her from the window. I made biscuits and gravy and eggs for dinner. The kids ate up their eggs and biscuits.
Thursday

Today we started doing more diaper free time with D. He knows how to use the potty, but doesn’t like to. I bought him some treats on Wednesday so that he could start to learn that going potty is a good thing! We only did about an hour and half of diaper free time just to start the process. I potty trained C around 18 months so I am getting him ready to full on potty train. After snack, we headed off to the park for some outside time before we did school work. They had a blast on the playground. It was so nice out, we had to go! When we got back we did a bit of school work and then had lunch. After lunch, they took naps and rests.

After C’s rest time, she worked more on her Wisdom Wonder Project. We mixed colors using some glitter glue I had gotten from a neighbor. She used all the glitter glue so I guess I will be ordering more! We also mixed colors with tissue paper. This was fun. This afternoon, we went outside to play with a neighbor friend that has started preschool. When they had to leave, C found some flowers outside and we drew with chalk the different parts of the flower. It was a different way to talk about flowers. I had to have everyone come inside so I could cook dinner. We had Sloppy Joes and French Fries! While I was trying to cook dinner, C threw a wire hat basket and hit D on the face. I didn’t really see what happened but he came to me crying. After I calmed him down, he pulled away and his nose was bleeding. I got it to stop, but now he has a huge mark on his nose from the accident. There is never a dull moment around here.
Friday

Today we started our day with a walk around the neighborhood. I made C a chart for her to find different colored flowers. I had intended for her to use one marker to do the whole sheet, but she wanted to do each color in the correct color. I compromised with her that she would go around marking the boxes with a pencil and then she could come home and color them in the correct color. She agreed and had a blast!
After our walk, the kids played outside for a bit. We were going to stay out for longer, but the mowers showed up and D was done! We came inside and did some school work. C is learning to write her letter e’s. After rest and nap times, it was cleaning time. We have company coming over tomorrow so we had to clean. We had left overs for dinner since I made so much!
Saturday
Today was actually a really busy day of cleaning and organizing before our company came over. We had Daddy’s students over for a cookout. The kids did great and loved the extra attention. C was telling all of them she loved them before they left. D loved eating at the little yellow table upstairs. We moved it upstairs so there was enough seats for the adults. He was so proud of himself at the little table.

We had hamburgers, brats, beans, salad, and cookies for dinner. It was so good! It was nice to finally meet the students because I had heard their voices when Daddy was working from home last semester.
My back is doing better every day. I think next week I will be able to start doing some below impact exercises again. I hope y’all had a great week too!
