This week we stayed super busy and went outside as we could. D is still learning about the color purple, while C is working on CVC words, numbers 6-10, writing full words, and days of the week.

Monday

So today we had a some what quiet day at home. D did some coloring in the morning with purple and C did some school work. After we finished school work, we went upstairs and did a really cool sensory bin with shaving cream. I filled a container with shaving cream (apparently the cheap stuff didn’t work so we resorted to Daddy’s good stuff) and then added some food coloring to the top. I gave them a water bucket and some spoons, bowls, and measuring cups. They went to town. C made some “cupcakes” while D just tried to dump it in the bowls. They worked on cleaning everything off in the water bucket. And then D ate some shaving cream so we cleaned everything up and called poison control (he was fine, but just checked) and did some water sensory bins! So no more shaving cream until he is much older!

A little girl and toddler boy are sitting on a table cloth with two sensory bins on the cloth as well. The one in front of the boy has shaving cream and swirls of food coloring in it. The one in front of the girl has water in it. The girl has her hands in the water tub. The boy is dipping a spoon covered in shaving cream into the water bin. There are also an assortment of measuring cups and bowls on the table cloth near the sensory bins.

Tuesday

We did school this morning with little issues. We also ran a few errands in the morning. I offered snack out, but C didn’t want it so we just came back home and relaxed!

Wednesday

A toddler boy is sitting at a table playing with purple play dough. He is using a cookie cutter to cut a circle into the play dough. He has a few other play dough toys in his bin with the play dough.

We started our day today with play dough. I had cleaned out the sensory bins so D was able to do some play dough in the bin. He loved it! He worked with the color purple! He even used a cookie cutter on it one time! Usually when we pull out play dough he just throws it so he looses it quickly. He was able to do a couple different colors of play dough this morning. Check out our Toddler Activities here! C had her last baking class where she learned how to make buttermilk biscuits. They were very good. The kids had pb&j on the biscuits at lunch! After her class, we went outside for a bit. It was a decently nice day so we spent about a half and hour outside playing.

A little girl is cutting a circle out of dough. The dough is on a white cutting board where she has flattened it out. There is flour and other baking ingredients in the background and a cookie sheet in the foreground.

Thursday

A little girl and boy are standing in front of a glass wall. Behind the wall, there are two cheetahs walking around an enclosure. There is another cheetah walking out of the enclosure in the back to another enclosed walkway.

Today the kids and I went to the zoo on our own. They had a blast! It was a bit cold, but it wasn’t too bad. We saw lots of animals and they still have out some of their Christmas decorations so C wanted her picture taken with all of it! We even got to ride the train all by ourselves!!! C was very sad we had to leave to come home and eat lunch! D was just excited I let him out of the stroller for a bit!

A little girl and boy are walking on a path. The path looks as though it is going through a garden that is all brown due to it being winter.

Friday

Today C had to go to the doctor and after that we went to the grocery store. At the store, we grabbed lunch. The kids got Lunchables and I got sushi from the restaurant at the grocery store. It was a good day. That evening, I was running the dishwasher and we got an error code!!! My husband has already fixed one thing on this dishwasher and now this! We tried everything we could to fix it and it wasn’t working. So on top of cleaning all day Saturday because we are hosting Bible study on Sunday evening, we get to hand wash all our dishes!!

We are supposed to get a ton of snow next week so we will see this goes!!
