We were so excited to receive a kit from Baketivity a few weeks ago and we had a chance to review it for you.

What is Baketivity?

Here is a quick video about Baketivity:

In essence, Baketivity is a subscription box or single boxes that are ready to go for you and your child to bake together. All the ingredients are packaged individually which makes it easy for the littles to bake on their own. They don't have to measure anything!

Our Baketivity Box

We ordered the Earth Compost Cookie Baking Kit. It was sent in a beautiful small box. Like I said before, each ingredient was individually wrapped. There was also a booklet with the recipe in it if we wanted to make it again. This is great because once we bake something, my kids want to bake it over and over again.

There were also a set of one-pot recipes that we could put together on a ring to save for a dinner one night. C was excited to be able to make one of these later.

When we were ready to bake, I had C read the recipe while the kids took turns dumping the ingredients. One issue we did have was that our brown sugar had hardened. If I had been smart, I would have seen this the first day we opened the box and would have put it in with some bread to soften it, but I didn't so we just used our own. What was really nice was we had the recipe so I could just measure out the brown sugar and move on!

I also really loved that there was no mixing machine needed! This means the kids can really do most of it! Our kitchen is not really setup to have the kids help us when we need to use the electric mixer, so that was nice. We setup at the table and let them go for it!

Once it was done baking and cooling, the kids got to decorate it on their own. There was directions of how to make each continent look right, but because my kids were so young, we just did abstract continents. We talked about the blue icing being the oceans and the green icing being the land. Then they went for it.

The Final Product

It turned out soo cute!! The kids were super proud of themselves and the best part was that it tasted amazing!!!

Overall Baketivity Review

Overall our Baketivity review is that: we loved our kit.

One of my favorite parts was that since we do dairy free, it was super easy to make this dairy free. Each of the ingredients were individually packed so we knew what was in each package. I just replaced the butter and the milk with diary free options.

According to the website, the boxes are not allergy free so if you have any allergies please reach out to Baketivity, but because we don't have an allergy we could just make some quick substitutions and go!

Another thing that made this so great was that it came super fast. They said it could take a few days, but it was here way before they said it would be. This was nice because my kids were excited.

Baketivity also has some homeschool lessons (a new one each month) that are free! They also have a summer camp, bake-a-camp, that we are looking at participating in this summer. With the summer camp, you get access to some live classes which sounds fun. They also have an after school program which is similar to the bake-a-camp program.

But the best way to experience Baketivity is to join the Club.
