This week we had a busy week with field trips and learning on the go. We had a blast with all of our activities. We focused on the letter T, numbers to 20, cutting, glueing, and our bible stories of Joseph, Moses, and Hannah praying for a son. We had an afternoon focus on transportation.
Sunday
Today was very busy. Mommy had to work in the nursery first hour so both kids went to Sunday School. Daddy joined us for church second hour and C did her first week in Children’s Church. She was so sad to leave. D actually didn’t cry the entire time!! He did great! We went out to lunch and home for rest/nap time. We didn’t have a lot of play time in the afternoon because we went off to Biblestudy. The kids were the only kids there so they played together as nicely as they could.
Monday
Today we started our day with a playdate. It was a great way to start our week. The kids had a great time and really enjoyed playing with other people’s toys! D thought I was leaving him again, so he stuck like glue to me, but did end up playing some. As we left our playdate we went to grab lunch at Chick-fil-a! After rest time, we did our school work for the week. C learned how to write the letter T this week. She did great with it!
In the afternoon, we played downstairs for a while. C did a mermaid floor puzzle. She loves puzzles and is getting much better at putting them together. I just have to step back and let her do it her way. She likes to put together the people first and then work her way out. It makes no sense to me, but it works for her! D played with the coffee shop for awhile. You can grab your Coffee Shop printable here for FREE. Tuesday
Today we started our day doing our Music class from Musik at Home. I will have a review of the program in about a month. The kids have been enjoying the songs and the movement and it is a great way to start our mornings. After music class, we went downstairs to do school work. D finished up his red weeks (Read all about them here) by painting a barn. He did really well and let me clean up when it was time to be all done. C worked on her writing some more, made a puppet, and practiced writing a number 1.
After some school work we went outside to play for a while before lunch. In the afternoon, C and I started to work on her transportation projects. We did some worksheets from HomeschoolPreschool.net. She loved to cut and glue the first letter of the transportation pictures down. She also really enjoyed the roll and cover on a rocket ship worksheet.
Wednesday
Today we took a field trip with a lot of other homeschoolers in our area. We went to the Omaha Zoo. It was so much fun! We stayed all day and both kids fell asleep on the way home. They had so much fun! Check out my Instagram for pictures.
Thursday
Today we had a low key day at home. We did a lot of cleaning in the morning and then went to the park. After the park we did a small bit of school work before going to rest time. After rest time, we continued talking about transportation by playing a fun game from My Teaching Library (review comes out next week). C had to use a magnifying glass to match pictures. She ended up guessing most of the time, but did have fun. I did not have a magnifying glass (and forgot to get one from the store) so I downloaded an app on my phone and she used that!
Friday
We went outside all morning. I brought out the water table and let them play. C did practice her T blends outside. We dumped water on the blends as Mommy said them. She thought it was funny! I am going to be putting together a list of different ways (out of the box ways) to teach phonics in the next few weeks. Saturday
We had another field trip today! We left the house early and went to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Trails and Visitors Center. It was so much fun. There was an interactive museum that the kids could look around. In this museum was a virtual ship that you could steer…both Daddy and C crashed it! There was also a ship outside that the kids could walk around on. They had so much fun! We also went on a short hike to look at the Missouri River and see what animals we could find. We left in time for lunch at Chick-fil-a at home! Now both kids are resting/napping. This afternoon we will probably get out some energy outside somewhere. Maybe ride our bike to the park!
