This week we learned about Freddy Fish and the letter F. We also learned about forest animals, family, flowers, and firefighters. We focused the number 4. We also watched the Bible story fo Elijah and Naaman.
Freddy Fish
This week we learned about Freddy Fish. We talked about how to write the letter F. We made our Freddy Fish Aquarium from our Abeka book. C loved putting her finger prints into the aquarium. We also made our own F is for Fish Craft. Grab your own template here to make one at home!

Forest Animals
We talked about forest animals too! We read the book Big Tracks, Little Tracks by Millicent Selsam. We talked about being an animal detective to figure out what animals have been in an area. We went on a field trip to our library to look at tracks. There are animal tracks put into the ground on the walk from the library to the playground. C loved looking at all the tracks and following them around.

Family

Also, we talked about family. We discussed the different people in our family. We learned mommy and daddy’s real names. We also made a family tree of all our close extended family. This was super fun as C did not really understand the connections of each member until we did this! She had a blast. I stalked Facebook and found pictures of everyone in our family all the way to Great-Grandparents.
Flowers

We learned about flowers. My favorite part was teaching C about the parts of the flower. We used all different items for the different parts of the flower. The petals were cupcake holders while the roots were Easter grass. After we glued it all down we added labels to each part. This was great because it was the first labeling activity for C.
Fire Fighter
We also talked about firefighters. We talked about the different parts of their uniform as well as different parts of the truck. We also talked about the fact that fire fighters might look scary, but are there to help you. If a fire fighter comes to our house we need to listen to them to stay safe. We also made cookies to take to the fire station near us. C had a blast with that. We made sugar cookies and then decorated them with icing and sprinkles. We were able to tour the fire station while we were there dropping off the cookies. C was very shy but talked about it the rest of the day.

Biblestory
This week’s bible story was about Elijah and Naaman. It is found in 2 Kings 5. We learned to trust in God and his people. We learned that if God tells us to do something we just need to believe and go! This can come through another person sometimes and sometimes it comes straight from God. We learned that God can heal anyone!
