This week we were reviewing everything we have learned so far this year and we used a Farm theme. It was a lot of fun and here are some of the highlights.

Let’s Go to the Farm book

This week we worked on a book from Abeka called Let’s Go to the Farm. C traced all the letters in the book on her own. She loved the extra painting with the counting on many pages as well. This is the best thing about this curriculum is the review that it gives C. She has done all these letters and can already write them. I am super proud of her work!

Mud Pie Chip Dip

So my favorite activity we did this week was making Mud Pie Chip Dip found at Preschool Powol Packets. You make your own MUD!!! How cool is that! C loves anything to do with dipping and chips so that was a blast. I didn’t get any good pictures of C enjoying the dip, but here is her making her plate full. We added cheese to the top, well because cheese makes everything even better!

Emergent Readers

We found a packet of emergent readers at In All You Do! The best part about these readers were the different levels you get with it. We used the short sentence with sight words version. I wanted it to be a bit more challenging then just words, but I had to read the sentence to her. She did a great job coloring in the pictures. We learned a lot of vocabulary with this reader.

Preschool Worksheets

We found an assortment of worksheets to help C with different skills, some of which we had not done a lot with yet.

From Living Life and Learning we did a few Dot Letter Coloring Pages. Find the Dot Letter Coloring pages here. C loves doing these because she loves her dot painters. I asked if she wanted to add anything to the cow and she added two black dots. That was it! 2 black dots! Silly girl!

From In All You Do we found a coloring pages combo pack. This pack had a ton of coloring pages that we used to continue our review at co-op. I try and take a few things a week to work on there to keep her busy while she has a break from classes. Her favorite picture to color was the Scarecrow. Also from In All You Do we used the C is for cornstalk picture and tracing from the Harvest Time Tot and PreK pack to practice tracing letters. C is not good at tracing words yet, so I wanted her to try tracing full words. She gave it her all and we will continue to work on that skill this year. After she finished the tracing she wanted to glue some so I gave her popcorn kernels to add to the picture. We also did patterns for the first time with the Tot and PreK Pack 2. C loved patterns and is getting really good at them. She said the names of all the items as she went along so that she could figure out the answer. Grab a copy of the Tot and PreK Pack here! Also if you have older children In All You Do has Harvest Time Writing Activities found here, but I felt like those were a little too difficult for C right now.

We did one last coloring page from Hess Un-Academy’s The Facinating Corn Maze Homeschool Unit Studies found here. The majority of this unit is for older children, but C loved the coloring pages. Her favorite picture that she colored was the tractors. She loves tractors and always wants to ride on one!

Games

We found a matching game from In All You Do Harvest Time Mini Puzzle Unit. C loves to play matching games so I cut out all the cards and laminated them so we could play. She loved finding all the matches and usually could tell me where the matches were when I “couldn’t” find them. The Mini Puzzle pack also has some simple Sudoku puzzles and word puzzles for older children. These are great introductions to these types of puzzles. Click here for your copy.
