This week we have had a lazy week! These weeks are always good because it helps you get ready for busy seasons. Our big adventure this week was going to the park and getting free Chick-fil-a sandwiches.
Sunday
Today we had a lazy day. We had church in our living room! PS if you don’t have a church to attend I highly suggest finding First Baptist Church in Crofton online. They are amazing! This was our church in Maryland and we have continued to watch their live streams during this COVID shut down. We also watch our church here but later in the day as it is not live streamed yet. After church we ordered lunch from a local spot called: Virginia’s Travelers Cafe and Motel. If you are traveling through Lincoln, NE, you need to stop here at eat!
After naps, we set up the pool and let the kids play outside. It was hot and they needed to be outside. I didn’t want to cook much so we had frozen pizza for dinner (this is a staple at our house). D ate 2 pieces as usual.
Monday

Monday, I was all set to get going on school. I got up and exercised early but had to do it inside because it was storming. After breakfast and a bit of chill time aka mommy’s coffee time, we started our school day by watching the story of Creation. This week we focused on that story and watched (and read) it many times. We then worked on our Creation books. D was soo excited to do his own “school” work. He helped glue all his pictures down. We got the cover and two days done before he wanted to eat the glue and get fussy. So outside we went.
After lunch and naps, we just chilled and played. We had chicken nuggets, french fries (left over from D’s meal on Sunday), and mac-n-cheese for dinner! Very refined palate we have here.
Tuesday
Tuesday started out with breakfast and relaxing in the morning. I found out Monday morning that our co-op was not going to happen this year (sad face), so I started to research a program called Outschool. I was just looking for a class in general and found a great one that happened today! So I signed C up and shifted our day so I could be with her during the class. If you want to check out Outschool, click here to use my referral code! So we went outside a bit early and then had lunch a bit early so that I could get D down for his nap early. C’s class was right before her nap so it worked perfectly. She had a blast. She didn’t interact with the teacher right away, but she did participate with the class. I definitely think we will do more classes during the school year. I would love for her to be in a recurring class so that she is still used to having a teacher.

Ignore the mess, I didn’t have time to clean up and I had problems with Zoom starting on her tablet so I ended up letting her take the class on my phone and was all flustered. Next time, I will prepare better.
For dinner tonight, we had fish and fresh corn on the cob from our lovely neighbors. They have a family farm not far from town and we get the best produce from them.
Wednesday
Today I started the day by going for a run. I had troubles with my interval app and am about to give up trying to run distance intervals with any app. If you have any suggestions please let me know. I have tried a couple and none work like I want them too! After breakfast we started school again by watching another Creation bible story. C and I had some great discussions during the video about creation and Adam and Eve. We then finished our Creation books. D did great for days 3 and 4, but then started throwing a huge fit. I still don’t know what he wanted! So I have pictures of day 3 and 4 and nothing more! Grab your kits below, either a digital kit or a physical kit mailed to your house.

After we worked on our books for a bit, C and I made banana bread mini muffins. I had a few chocolate chips left and two of our bananas were going bad so we worked together to bake the mini muffins. While I was getting the mini muffins baked and starting lunch, I let both kids have a small water bin. This was great! For the most part, it worked. They played nicely together.

After lunch and naps, I got dinner ready and daddy headed out to cook dinner on the grill. We had chicken kabobs. As I was making them, C commented that I was making a pattern. She then helped me make a few of them by following the pattern of chicken, vegetable, vegetable, vegetable, chicken, vegetable, vegetable, vegetable, etc. She did a great job (and apparently really knows patterns). While daddy was cooking, we got out the pool again. They love the pool. D just likes to scoop the water out and dump it, but C likes to “swim.” Here is her picture of her swimming that she asked me to take. She also made a pool rollercoaster out of her chair and the hose. I tried to get a picture, but she moved to quickly. It was super imaginative.
Thursday
Today after mommy woke up with her coffee, we went straight outside. It was supposed to be go outside and then come in to do school work, but instead we ended up at the park. They had a blast. This was the first time we have been back at our neighborhood park since COVID hit (the city closed all our parks). C loved digging for buried treasure, while D liked filling up C’s bucket. We were all hot and sweaty when we started back, but it was worth it. Both kids had pasta for lunch and ate two bowls because they were so hungry.

After lunch, C did a bit of school work by playing Reading EGGS and Mathseeds. She loves her new games and played the entire time I was putting D down for his nap. (Check out my review in a couple of weeks). After naps, daddy came upstairs and played with them for a bit before taking both kids to go grab dinner. I had a webinar to attend so I stayed home. They went to Chick-fil-a and got free chicken sandwiches. They brought me back a sandwich, fries and a drink. I could hear them playing hard with daddy while I was doing my webinar and then everyone crashed for the night!
Friday
We started the morning by sorting coins. C has been fascinated with coins for a long time so I decided to teach her their value. After we sorted and counted the coins, we went outside to play in water with our neighbors. C and her friend haven’t seen each other in a few weeks so it was needed! All of them had fun and were exhausted. C and I had BTC (bacon, tomato, and cheese) sandwiches with fresh grown tomatoes. Oh my it was good! After lunch, C did a bit of school work learning about the penny. She loved counting and did a really good job writing her numbers.
After naps, C did a Sophia puzzle on her own. She loves puzzles, but usually want help. I have been trying really hard to let her do it on her own and not give too much help. This will help her in the long run be able to do harder puzzles.

Saturday
This morning I went to the grocery store on my own (nice vacation right). We FaceTimed with my grandmom who loves seeing the kids play. We talked with her up until lunch time and then everyone went down to take a nap except me who is working on my blog.

I love your Creation book printable! We are enjoying some worksheets from Super Teacher Worksheets, too, but we keep a membership each year. Great week!
Thanks! I used to use Super Teacher Worksheets when I was teaching preschool so I am happy to have it again!
i use mapmywalk when I do my exercising. I don’ t know if you have tried this app before. 99% of the time it works just fine.
It’s nice when the parks are open again isn’t it? Ours are not yet, but the splash pad is which doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. inconsistencies of all this COVID-19 stuff make my head nutty.
I have used mapmywalk before. I am now using another app and doing time intervals not exactly what I wanted, but it works. Our parks are open, but our Splash Pads are not. Crazy right!
