Here is our weekly preschool review for the week of August 2nd. This week we have been very busy week this last week before we start school. We have done a little bit of school work in between different playdates and errands.

Sunday

Today, we started with church at home and then went to go grab lunch at McAlister’s. After naps, we got out the water table for a bit and then got dressed and went to Bible study. C loves when we go to Bible study because there are “big kids” there that play with her. We got home late and C stayed up playing in her room until 10:30pm. SO LATE!!

Monday

Today we kinda all slept in a bit, because of staying up so late the night before. We went to a playdate at a friend’s house. I loved spending time with my friend while the kids played hard! When the kids were sleeping, I made some moon sand for them to play in.

It was 3 cups of flour (I used bread flour because I had a ton that we hadn’t used yet), 3/8ish cups oil, some food coloring and a bit of water. I first mixed the water with some food coloring and then added a cup of flour. I kept adding food coloring to this mixture to make it super dark. Then I added an 1/8 cup of oil (I used some oil I had cooked corn dogs in but was very clean…so my house smelled like a fish fry). After I mixed this all in, I added two more cups of flour, a 1/4 cup of oil and food coloring as needed. Once I got the coloring correct, I added more oil as needed to make the sand stick better. It was a bit of trail and error, but making two different colors helped me perfect the process. The kids loved it! C went straight to it to play, and D started to throw it. Once I convinced him he should just play with it in the bin, he had fun. I made pasta and meatballs for dinner. After dinner, we played inside and went to bed.

Tuesday

Today we did a lot of errands in the morning. We went to get a snack from Chick-fil-a on our way to some craft stores. We then went to the library to return our books, cds, and dvds we have had for awhile. After we left the library, we walked to the park that is right behind our library. There was an amazing surprise of a book on the walk. The library had posted the pages to a book to read along the path. It was super cute.

After the park, we came home for lunch and C picked her first tomato from her plant. She is super proud of herself growing her tomato plant. After naps, we went outside and played in the water table until daddy got home. We had leftovers for dinner and then went for a family walk.

Wednesday

Today, we went to the zoo with our awesome neighbor. We had so much fun looking at all the animals and feeding some. We loved it! C’s favorites were the goats, giraffes, and the peafowl that roams the zoo.

We came home and had lunch while we watched the old Scooby Doo cartoons. After naps, we made banana chocolate chip mini muffins. For dinner, I made sweet potato shepherd’s pie. After dinner, we walked down to get some free Kona Ice (our neighborhood was supposed to have a neighborhood get together, but with COVID we couldn’t so they still brought the truck for us)!

Thursday

Today we just hung around the house in the morning. We played outside for a while and then came in for lunch. After lunch, I put them down for naps while daddy was home I went to an appointment and ran some errands. After naps, we pulled out some boxes we had around the house for art time. C had a blast coloring the inside of the big box and D had fun coloring his little box with his new crayons. For dinner, we had leftovers and then the kids went to bed.

Friday

Today we had an eventful morning. We went to a splash pad about 40 minutes from our house with other homeschool families. C and D had soo much fun playing with all the other kids. C played with the big kids while D played on the playground putting rocks on the slide. Neither one of them wanted to leave, but within about 2 minutes down the road they were both asleep! This was their only naps for the day which wasn’t great, but they had soo much fun.

After rest time, C and her daddy got ready to go camping. She has been looking forward to this trip for a while. After they left, D and I went and grabbed dinner out and went to bed early!

Saturday

Today, D and I got up and had breakfast. I made coffee and off we went to the camp ground to see C and her daddy. We let them play in the water at the beach area for a bit and then came back and had lunch at the camp site. After lunch, D and I headed home and he took a nap in the car (no nap at home though). After he woke up, we went to the grocery store for the week. Daddy and C came home at dinner time and then everyone went to bed super early.
