Unit Five of Teaching the Bible (a 12 month complete Bible curriculum with hands-on activities for toddlers and preschoolers) teaches children all about Jesus being born with the entire Christmas Story. By the end, your preschoolers and toddlers will know that Jesus is God’s Son and He was Born on Christmas!
Lessons Overview
There are 4 lessons with hands-on activities for preschoolers or toddlers in this Christmas Story unit: An Angel Visits Mary and Joseph, John is Born, Jesus is Born, and An Angry King.. Each lesson has 6 hands-on activities for little ones based on the length of days the lesson should cover. There are also a memory verses for little ones to learn during the unit with motions and a poster to help in memorizing the verses.

Lesson 1: An Angel Visits Mary and Joseph
This first lesson on An Angel Visits Mary and Joseph should last about a week depending on the activities you choose for your little one. The goal of this lesson is for your little one to know that Jesus was Born. Your little one will also start to memorize this verse:
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord.”

One of my favorite preschool or toddler activities from this lesson is Make an Angel. This is a great activity not only because it is a coloring activity, but also you can make it an ornament for your tree. Lesson 2: John is Born
This is the second lesson in the unit and is about John being born. A big part of this lesson is on patience as Zechariah went mute while waiting for John to be born. The goal for this lesson is for your child to know that Jesus is Born. Your little one will continue to work on the same memory verse as the first lesson.
One of my favorite activities from this lesson is Wash the Baby. This is a sensory bin for your child to play with water and baby dolls. My kids love this bin because they get to give baby doll baths! You can click below to buy lesson 2 only.
Lesson 3: Jesus is Born
This is the third lesson in the unit and is about Jesus being born!! The goal is for your child to know that Jesus is Born! The memory verse is the same as the previous two weeks.
One of my favorite activities from this lesson is the shape nativity. This is a great process art project for littles. You can either have them cut out the shapes, use your cutting machine or cut them out yourself. You can walk them through building a nativity scene. They can then add details if they want like my kids did!

Lesson 4: An Angry King
This is the fourth lesson for preschoolers and toddlers in the Christmas Bible Story unit and is about An Angry King and Joseph, Mary, and Jesus running away to Egypt. The goal is for your child to know that Jesus is Born! Your little one will continue with the same memory verse from the rest of the unit (this is one of the only units that only uses 1 memory verse).
One of my favorite activities from this lesson is called Get up and Run! This is a game similar to Red Light, Green Light. It is super fun for your child to race to see who will win especially if your child are as competitive as my kids. You can click below to buy lesson 4 only.
