Who else needs help with some Toddler gift ideas? Toddlers are super hard to shop for because one day they love something, but the next day, they hate it. I am sharing D’s favorite items so that you can possibly find something for the 1.5 year old in your life.
Toddler Gift Ideas: Books
Little Blue Truck
Little Blue Truck is D’s all time favorite book and one of the most perfect toddler gift ideas for any young child. If you don’t have it for your little one, grab it now!! It is super cute. If you don’t know about this book, it is not only about animals but also about helping your friends. I also love the rhythm of the book. I just love to read it!
Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You Hear?
This is one of the other books that I have read over and over again to D. He loves it! He loves to make the horse sound (on every animal). I love this book because it teaches colors and animals. We also practice all the animal sounds as we read it! It is super cute to hear them learn these new sounds and practice them. Also you can have them repeat colors over and over again while reading. I also think that this would be perfect for your little one if you don’t have it already!!
Toddler Gift Ideas: Activities
Coloring
This is probably D’s favorite activity and another one of the great cheap toddler gift ideas! He loves to color. He doesn’t really like coloring pages yet, just plain white paper and some crayons. He goes to town. While he is coloring, he is working on fine motor skills. He is getting better and better at his scribbles. He now will get mad if he can’t see them (like when using a yellow crayon). He also is working on color names. I say the colors as he uses them. This gets him used to saying the color names. He is big into repeating things so he usually will repeat the color name that I say. I started him with these jumbo crayons from Crayola because they are perfect for his hands to grip.
Water Colors
Water Colors is D’s other favorite activity. We usually do some water color painting every day. He will just paint all over a white piece of paper. He loves it. He will show me his picture (just like C does) when he is done. He will then yell “more paper” to get another sheet. Water color painting works on fine motor skills, color names, and even following directions. I tell him get some water, now get paint. He knows the steps he needs to do and follows my directions when I give them.
Jumbo Puzzles
D loves puzzles. He loves to try and figure out how the pieces go into the puzzle. I love these jumbo puzzles for little hands. There are wide knobs to hold which make it easier for little hands. D works on colors, shapes, animals, animal sounds, spacial awareness, fine motor skills, etc. while working these types of puzzles.

Outdoor Toys
So D loves to go outside. He would spend his whole day outside if I let him. He will go get his shoes and socks to go outside when you tell him to. It is super cute. We have a couple of outdoor toys that he can push. These are his favorite to play with because he can follow his sister around with these toys. We have a baby stroller and a lawn mower for him. They are amazing. He will get mad if he can’t play with them. Once it gets too cold to go outside, we might bring them in for him to play with inside!
