This week was a bit of a mess. We had a few rough days, but we got back on track towards the end of the week.
Sunday
Today, we actually went to church. It was very difficult to get everyone up and showered and bathed and in the car in time. We did it though. It was very good for us to get back into the church building. C did great. I brought her some coloring pages thanks to My Teaching Library (I have a review coming soon for this) and some stickers. She loved it. D was in to everything!! I ended up taking him into the back to let him run around. He only took off down the aisle two or three times! We then went out to eat, another great thing is that our restaurants can be open at 50%. When we got home, C and I made some strawberry ice cream to take to Bible study in the evening. After naps and a quick snack off we went to Bible study. C loves it because she gets to play with the “big girls” and D was yet again into everything! When we got home, everyone went straight to sleep.
Monday
Today, we started out strong with school work. We practiced our phonics sentences this morning which has been interesting with a child that doesn’t really like to repeat things. She did get it though and we will practice throughout the week. We also practiced our bible verse this week and I know she got it because I “messed it up” and she corrected me. I call it a win. We started our cursive writing today. We only practiced the different parts of the lines as well as general tracing lines, but she is super excited about writing. We went outside and got the pool out to play for a while. I actually lost track of time so we stayed out until past noon. So we came in and did a quick lunch. Before naps, I let her play Reading Eggs on her tablet for a bit. After naps, we played inside while we waited for Daddy to get home. For dinner, we had leftover Pizza Pasta and the kids had Mac-n-Cheese.
Tuesday

Well today has been interesting. We started the day with full on temper tantrums and fits. We were supposed to go out and have a picnic with some friends, but C was not listening so I had to call my friend and tell her we couldn’t make it. C was very upset, but I needed to do something so that she understand that what mommy said was what went. I did have to run an errand in the morning because I had told a lady I was coming to pick something up. So we loaded up and went to get our package and I surprised her by running to get snack from Chick-fil-a. I had a couple of free breakfast items and I am not usually out during that time so we got a drink, two breakfast items, and a fruit cup all for the price of the fruit cup. I was super excited. We then went outside to play for while. After lunch and naps, we played inside until Daddy got home. It has been too hot to go out in the afternoon except if I get the pool out and I didn’t feel like dealing with all of that. For dinner I made, chicken stir fry. The kids had peanut butter and jelly because they don’t like stir fry.
Wednesday
Today we got to go on our picnic. We first went to the library to get new DVDs and a few books. The park we were meeting at was right behind the library. C had so much fun playing that she didn’t want to stop and eat. We got home and she ate a few goldfish, but that was it. Before naps, C played tablet time for a while. She then laid down, I was so sure she was gonna fall asleep, but nope! After naps, C did a science experiment. She painted with sun screen. We sat it outside to see if we could get it fade just the paper where there was no sunscreen. It didn’t really work, but we are going to try again later. Then, we played inside and I used a few new techniques with C to keep her calm and away from her brother. They both get super hyper in the afternoon so I needed a new strategy. It worked pretty well. I warmed up leftovers for dinner. The kids had chicken nuggets and left over mac-n-cheese. C ate soo much. I couldn’t believe she kept wanting more, but then I remembered no lunch. They both went to bed easily after playing with Daddy for a bit.
Thursday

Today we got back to school work. C worked on her writing. She wrote the letter I a few times. We also played a fun game where she answered questions and then picked oranges off a tree. Read more about that here. D also painted! He only ate the paint brush once. It was a good start. He loved it and by the end he was painting the table and everything around him. We then went outside and to mix things up, we took our Magna-tiles outside. C built a place to put all her rocks. This was a process because she kept getting upset that it would break apart, but she stuck with it and had a blast.
After lunch, the kids both took baths because they were gross! Then naps and then play time. We went outside and pulled out the water table. The kids played for a long time. We came in right before dinner and changed our clothes and had leftovers for dinner again.

Friday
Today, we started our day by heading out to the grocery store. We have run out of all our snacks so we had to go! This worked out because D was not having a good morning and the change in scenery was good for him. After the store, we did our school work. We started by doing our color sticky wall for D. Both the kids had a blast. It was a lot of fun. You may read of it here. C worked on her school work for the day. We learned a new letter today and did some tracing/coloring. C is super proud of herself when she finishes a her school work. We didn’t finish all our work from the week so I will put some of the coloring pages in her church bag for the week. She could also work on them next week when she wants to. We laid down for our rest/nap times. After naps, we built with legos in the living room. We use the toddler sized ones right now because D is putting things in his mouth. Grab your toddler a set here.

They played nicely together for all of 2 minutes. We ended up playing until dinner time. I cooked Butter Chicken for Daddy and I. The kids had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because the Butter Chicken was spicy. After dinner, we went on a family walk and then played outside for a while.
Saturday
Today, I started to clean up the house. I started by sorting all the kids clothes that are too small and putting them away in the basement. Daddy took the kids outside to play for a bit while I finished up and cooked lunch. After lunch, the kids went down for rest/nap time and I went off to Target! I love Target and don’t go as much here as I did in Maryland, but boy I forgot that the University students were back! Target was packed! I wish I didn’t have to go there, but that is the only local place I have found C’s sunscreen. She has to use a certain brand because of her skin. When I got back, Daddy updated me on the progress on our white board. I have wanted a large magnetic white board for our school room for a while, but they are super expensive. I found a way to use galvanized metal and paint it with white board paint to make your own. So we soon will have a 3 by 4 foot white board in our school room. Pictures will come once I get it hung up. It can’t be used for 3 days so we are waiting those 3 days to put it up so that C doesn’t write on it without my permission. After a little bit more play time, we ate dinner (leftovers again).
We have a lot of cleaning to do this week because Grandma is coming. I have this next week as a catch up week because when Grandma is here there is more fun things to do than school. This is one of my favorite things about homeschooling. If we need a week off, we can take it! We still do learning, but not our official school stuff. We have a busy week planned with Grandma and I can’t wait to tell y’all about it!
