One great way to teach letter names and sounds to preschool children and even younger is through crafts. As they build their letter craft, you can repeat the letter name and sound over and over again. This repetition is what teaches the name and sound.

Letter Crafts Bundle A-Z
This is a digital file to create your own Letter Crafts for the whole alphabet. Â These files are ready to use. This is a zip file with folders for each craft.
We use these letter crafts in our homeschool every year. It is a great way to see your child’s development over time.
How to print the letter crafts
These letter craft projects will be ready to go in one of three formats! You can check out how we have used one here in our K is for Kangaroo week.
The first type of file is a PDF format if you just want to print (here is my favorite printer) the project straight onto construction paper and then cut it out. Another thing you can do is to print it on white paper and have your child color the images. Glue the craft together add googly eyes and pompoms and voila, you have a letter friend craft!
Also, there is a PNG file to upload to your cutting machine. You heard me right, straight to your cutting machine. Place your construction paper on your mat and go! The files are individually color coded making it easier to place one color on the cutting program and cut! It will be ready to glue onto a piece of construction paper. Add the googly eyes, pompoms, paint and GO!
Another type of file in the product is SVG for those that want it, but this file will have to be resized if used. Just resize to whatever size you want to cut on and GO!
How to integrate letter crafts for preschool learning
So now that you have the letter craft pieces ready to make, how do you integrate them into your preschoolers learning time. I usually start by introducing the a new letter of the day or week. Once I introduce the letter name and the sound it makes, we do our Alphabet Sensory Mats.

Alphabet Sensory Mat Bundle A-Z
This is a digital file with 26 mats and 26 cut out pages to create an alphabet sensory bin for your child.
Once we are done with our Alphabet Sensory Mat for the day, we start to work on our Alphabet Letter Craft.
I have my child pick out their favorite color of construction paper and walk them through making the letter craft. I do not do it for them, but just show them and let their creativity go wild.
As we are making the craft, I say and show the different part of the animal and reinforce the letter name and sound each time. When we are done, I reinforce the letter name and sound again!!!
